Isola Rossa is a small fishing village on the Costa Rossa, halfway between Castelsardo and Santa Teresa di Gallura, and just 6 km from the town of Trinità d’Agultu.
A major tourist destination overlooking the Gulf of Asinara, it takes its name from the small granite islet off the coast of the village, whose intense pink-colored rock stands in stark contrast to the brilliant green of the Mediterranean scrub and the snow-white beaches. Dominating the town is the Spanish tower, built around the end of the 1500s, originally designed as a lookout point to defend the area from pirate raids.
Accessible in about an hour by car from the main ports of Olbia, Alghero, and Porto Torres, the town has developed along its main street and the beautiful waterfront, which is well-stocked with shops, bars, and restaurants, ice cream parlors, small craft boutiques, and a modern marina capable of accommodating most recreational boats. An ideal destination for families, sports enthusiasts, and those seeking a relaxing vacation, it offers opportunities for hiking, trekking, surfing, windsurfing, and diving—all without sacrificing the comforts of excellent accommodations designed to meet guests’ every need and desire, making them feel right at home.
In the town center are Spiaggia Longa and Spiaggia di Li Femini, both equipped with lounge chairs, umbrellas, and bar service, while Spiaggia di La Marinedda is located about 1 km from the town. These beaches, with their coves, white sand, and crystal-clear sea, offer extraordinary seabeds that are home to a marvelous and diverse array of marine flora and fauna.
