Deiva Marina is a small village of about 1,000 residents, stretching along the valley that begins at Mount San Nicolao at an elevation of about 800 meters and extends all the way to the sea. Its microclimate and nearly 300 meters of beach—composed of small pebbles, sand, and rocks—have made it one of the most popular beach destinations in eastern Liguria for years.

Deiva Marina opens wide onto the sea, a sea that reigns supreme with its majesty, where the horizon stretches as far as the eye can see. We can assure you that here—and not just during the summer—you’ll be able to admire the most beautiful sunsets you’ve ever seen.

Unlike other towns on the Riviera, Deiva Marina did not originate as a fishing village. Deiva—that is, its historic center—developed inland starting in the 1700s; at its heart stands the Church of St. Anthony the Abbot, whose churchyard is adorned with a splendid “risseu” (a sort of marvelous carpet of Ligurian stones); opposite it stands a square medieval tower (used for exhibitions and events). The urban development of the Marina area, on the other hand, began later, around the postwar period.

For this reason, if you come to visit our town, you’ll immediately realize how the two areas—Deiva and Marina, connected by a long, shaded tree-lined avenue— with their very different characteristics, form the town of Deiva Marina, which in 2022 became a member of the “Club of Italy’s Most Beautiful Villages.”
