Pantelleria, literally “Daughter of the Wind,” lies between Africa and Europe. It is 67 km from the Tunisian coast and 85 km from the Sicilian coast. It does not belong to any archipelago and is the largest of Sicily’s “satellite islands,” with an area of 83 sq km and a perimeter of 51.5 km. “The Black Pearl” of the Mediterranean, as Pantelleria is known, is an island of volcanic origin. Although the last eruption dates back to 1891 and it is therefore now considered an extinct volcano, its geological activity is still ongoing, with many secondary volcanic phenomena that help characterize it and make it unique.
Here, just 10 minutes from Gadir, in a splendid independent yet not isolated position, within approximately 5,000 sq m of private land planted with vines, capers and fruit trees—2,220 sq m of vineyards and the remainder caper plants—we find an Original Ancient Dammuso (completely in need of renovation and without utilities) of approximately 38 sq m, divided into two rooms. There is also a cistern for water supply. The property falls within the park area, but sanitary and hygiene upgrades are permitted. An ideal solution for nature and seclusion lovers... although not too much, as the land borders the property of the “La Favarotta” trattoria. The road is pedestrian-only (a municipal path of approximately 150 metres) leading from the public road to the property.
Estimated cost to renovate the Dammuso: approximately 75,000 euros
