Scansano (Maremma Sea) Silence and dreams in Maremma, among the crowing of roosters and fireflies in the woods. If you are looking for a small, already furnished retreat, ideal for a single person or a couple, this three-room apartment is perfect for you. We are in Scansano, the town of Morellino wine, 15 minutes from the famous Saturnia waterfalls and thermal baths and half an hour from the Argentario coast. In the town center, convenient to all services but bordering the woods, this splendid 50 sq m cottage (a former convent dating from 1525) is located on Via Castagnoli, with a 700 sq m equipped garden on Via degli Addobbi. The cottage, in excellent condition, consists of a kitchen/living room with a sofa bed, a double bedroom and a bathroom. Cloister/cellar and highly enjoyable equipped garden with pergola/vineyard and fruit trees. There is no gas heating (there is an external gas connection near the entrance door), but only a flue. There is an attic that could be used in the event of renovation. The roof was redone in 2009 (documented). Scansano, immersed in the Maremma area of Grosseto, is located on a mountain ridge that forms the watershed between the Ombrone and Albegna rivers. Since ancient times, it has been considered a healthy holiday destination, to the point that under Leopold II, the offices of the Municipality of Grosseto, the capital of the Maremma province, moved there in summer for the so-called “summer retreat,” allowing employees and their families to escape the risks of malaria. The town offers beautiful views both towards the sea and towards Mount Amiata. The town offers beautiful views both towards the sea and towards Mount Amiata.
